Jeremiah 46:22-24

New Catholic Bible

²² Egypt is hissing like a retreating snake,
    for her enemies are advancing in force.
They move against her with axes,
    like men who fell her trees.
²³ They will cut down her forest,^[a] says the Lord,
    even though it appears impenetrable,
because they are more numerous than locusts;
    they are beyond counting.
²⁴ Daughter Egypt will be disgraced,
    handed over to a people from the north.
